The STEM Summer Kids Camp for grades 5-7 offers an exciting, hands-on exploration of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Through engaging activities, experiments, and interactive lessons, students will learn how energy is transferred and transformed, the principles of heat and work in thermodynamics, and the forces that shape the world around us. Students will apply those topics to a Forensic Science experiment, learn how those principles affect the human body and how they shape the world of food science. Campers will have the opportunity to design simple experiments with real-world scientific applications, all while fostering critical thinking and teamwork skills.
Basic Wastewater Operations - Olean (3100)

This 60 hour course will provide instruction for Basic Wastewater Operations to individuals seeking to become certifiied. The course follows the DEC curricula guide for watewater treatment plant operators. Textbooks are included.
Grade 1A - Supervisory Management - Dunkirk (3111)

This four-day course is designed to meet the supervisor management requirements for the New York State Department of Health Grade I certification course for water treatment operators. The course is a mixture of lecture and interactive activities. The Manage for Success textbook and course materials are included in the cost.
Basic Hydraulics - Dunkirk (3007)

This session will review treatment and distribution operations for flows, pressure, storage capacity, operations and maintaining drinking water quality.

This session reviews the history of chlorine disinfection, drinking water regulations and disinfection by products, achieving chlorine CT (contact time).
Basic Wastewater Operations Lab - Dunkirk (3009)

Each applicant seekig certification at the Grade 2 or 2A level or higher must be able to conduct the necessary laboratory tests to maintain proper operation of a wastewater treatment plant. This course covers collection and analysis of wastewater samples.
