This 60-hour course will provide instruction for Basic Wastewater Operations to individuals seeking to become certified. The course follows the DEC curricula guide for wastewater treatment plant operators. Textbooks are included. 60 contact hours

This course is designed for operators of distribution systems serving greater than 1,000 people. Topics include pressure zones, booster stations, storage tanks, fire protection and disinfection. 15 contact hours; 1.5 CUEs

Each applicant seeking certification at the Grade 2 or 2A level or higher must be able to conduct the necessary laboratory tests to maintain proper operation of a wastewater treatment plant. This course covers collection and analysis of wastewater samples. 30 contact hours.

Topics covered in this course include operator qualifications and responsibilities, water quality control, coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, pH and alkalinity adjustment, iron and manganese removal, water softening and chlorination, bacteriological laboratory techniques, emergency planning, safety, hydraulics and pumps, process calculations and distribution system operation and maintenance. 60 contact hours; 6 CEUs

This five-day course is designed to meet the requirements of NYS Sanitary Code Part 5 relative to the training required to receive New York State Water Treatment Operator's certification. This training will coincide with the first half of the Grade IIA class. 30 contact hours; 3 CEUs
