This 10-hour General Industry training is intended to provide instruction on a variety of general industry safety and health standards. This program is presented by an authorized General Industry Outreach Program Trainer and will provide you with the elements for developing a comprehensive safety and health program for your organization. OSHA established required course topics. These topics are designed to present detailed information on how the provisions of the OSHA Act must be implemented in the workplace. The program will help your company reduce costly accidents, and the risk of OSHA citations, fines and penalties. Course topics include: Overview of the OSHA General Duty Clause, Inspections, Citations and Subpart D: Walking and Working Surfaces; Subpart E & L: Means of Egress and Fire Protection; Subpart S: Electrical; Subpart H: Hazardous Materials; Subpart I: Personal Protective Equipment; Subpart O: Machine Guarding; Subpart J: Lockout Tagout; Subpart J: Permit Required Confined Space; and Subpart Q: Welding, Cutting, and Brazing. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive an official OSHA course completion card

The Culinary Operations training will equip students with basic skills and competencies, such as food safety certification, basic knife skills, restaurant, and hotel operations and professional etiquette. The hands-on experience and certification provided by this course can be used to enhance students’ knowledge at their current job, start their career in the culinary industry, or continue with their education.

Classes will take place from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. on 5/21 - 5/23 and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on 5/27. After completion of the classes, students will be placed at an industry partner site in Cattaraugus County and are required to work a minimum of 120 hours to earn their selected micro credential.
