Basic Wastewater Operations - NFWB (3686)

This 60 hour course will provide instruction for Basic Wastewater Operations to individuals seeking to become certifiied. The course follows the DEC curricula guide for watewater treatment plant operators. Textbooks are included.
Grade D - NFWB (3683)

This course is designed for operators of distribution systems serving greater than 1,000 people. Topics include pressure zones, booster stations, storage tanks, fire protection and disinfection.
Grade 1A - Advanced Water Treatment - Dunkirk (3680)

This is one of the modules required by New York State Department of Health to become certified as a Grade IA water treatment plant operator (the other module is the Grade 1 Supervisory Management Course). This course is designed for operators at water treatment plants with facilities for filtration designed to treat over 2.5 million gallons per day. Topics include math, chemistry, biology, regulations, and water treatment plant optimization.
Basic Laboratory Skills - NFWB (3684)

Basic Lab course covers a review of basic chemistry principles on pH, alkalinity, chlorine residuals, treatment and water quality regulations. Workshop covers water quality topics on disinfection and public notification. Water Treatment Operators Grade IA / IIA are required to complete a 0.5 CEU Basic Lab course every 3 years.
Basic Wastewater Operations Lab - NFWB (3787)

Each applicant seekig certification at the Grade 2 or 2A level or higher must be able to conduct the necessary laboratory tests to maintain proper operation of a wastewater treatment plant. This course covers collection and analysis of wastewater samples.
Grade IIA - Dunkirk (3681)

Topics covered in this course include operator qualifications and responsibilities, water quality control, coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, pH and alkalinity adjustment, iron and manganese removal, water softening and chlorination, bacteriological laboratory techniques, emergency planning, safety, hydraulics and pumps, process calculations and distribution system operation and maintenance.
Grade IIB - Dunkirk (3682)

This five-day course is designed to meet the requirements of NYS Sanitary Code Part 5 relative to the training required to receive New York State Water Treatment Operator's certification. This training will coincide with the first half of the Grade A class.
